Structural steel erectors, or ironworkers, assemble and disassemble structural members in the shop and in the field, drill, grind, weld and saw materials, and rig and hoist materials and machinery. This work involves dismantling and demolishing metal structures, building and erecting false work, and placing and connecting structural members. This database includes information on hazards and options for making such work activities safer.
